We offer Tanpuras (often spelled Tambura or Tamboura) in stock by Srishti Musical or Hiren Roy and Sanjay Sharma by special order. Every instrument is carefully monitored through each stage of production and air shipped only. In stock instruments are generally limited to instrumental tanpuras, if you have a request let us know?

Srishti Deluxe Tanpura

Suitable for vocal or instrumental use.

Aged premium mahogany (tun) wood. Fully carved and decorated in dual colored penwork. Rosewood swirled pegs. Has a larger body than the standard tanpura, very resonant with a beautiful finish. Strings are set to a typical instrumental tuning with a very light wound 4th string although thicker wound strings could be used for vocal tuning of 1 octave lower if desired with slight jawari modification. Comes with a fiberglass case included in the price. This tanpura has been air shipped (as are all of our instruments) to preserve its quality.

Hiren Roy Instrumental Tanpura

5 String

Made from aged mahogany with a very good sound from Kolkatas finest sitar maker. Fully carved and decorated in single color penwork. Rosewood swirled pegs. A nice subtle tone, perfect as a background for sitar, sarode, etc.. Standard instrumental string setup, highly decorated. This tanpura is slightly longer than others of this style from Kokata and comes with a fiberglass case included in the price.This tanpura has been air shipped (as are all of our instruments) to preserve its quality. Fiberglass case included.

Normal instrumental tuning and has a deep neck for better sound, slightly larger than most instrumental tanpuras so lots of options for modification if desired.
