Along with our full decoration Srishti Standard this is also called the 'Standard' because it sets an acceptable standard for what an affordable concert sitar should be. Made from aged mahogany (tun) wood. This features a one piece Pandharpur gourd, all made in Miraj from start to finish, not a relabeled Kolkata import. We came up with this model to meet the need by some for a student level instrument without top gourd.. While 'student level' or instruments of this type of decoration often disappoint, this one will not as it has been carefully fitted and has a decent weight as well. Great action and a half open jawari. You will not find a better instrument anywhere for this price!!

These feature very nice tight single color penwork along with a fine shellac hand finish. Spiral main pegs and decorated sympathetics. Bridge are bone or synthetic. Langot is brass.. Each one is unique so expect slight variation.....Includes a fiberglass flat top hard case. These are individually made so we keep one at a time in stock when possible.
