P & Brothers full decoration #1 sitar.

7 main strings ~ 13 sympathetics ~ natural top gourd and single color unique penwork.

Angur patta full decoration design, this sitar was recently commissioned and features a half closed jawari with synthetic main bridge. We were present during fitting and jawari as you can see from the pictures and please note this instrument (as all of our instruments) has been handled carefully and air shipped. Nice sound and action, their top of the line model. You may notice some similarities to Hiren Roy in the decorations as it appears that the same penwork craftsman does the P & Brothers penwork on their #1 sitar. A good traditionally styled Kolkata sitar properly set up by Suman Karmakar. A highly under-rated maker, I consider him the last great maker in Calcutta..... maintaining traditional style of fitting and never mass produced. Recommend for players who like a decent half closed sound, my personal opinion is that these are how newer Hiren Roys should have been. Add and extra bridge with sitar purchase for $85, will be fitted and jawari complete and will keep a duplicate here for future needs. Comes with fiberglass cases for sitar and top gourd and our standard accessories kit.
