Ayub/RA Sitarmaker Kharaj Pancham ~ Ravi Shankar style tun/mahogany Concert Sitar

Our current offering in tun sitars from Ayub/RA Sitarmaker. These are entirely made by him and I get a few done every year. Ayub is a talented craftsman who works for many others as well as his own instruments, he's also a mentor to other talented people in Miraj.

This is a custom all Miraj made instrument . Aged tun wood, natural bridges and fittings and carved by Ayub himself in a traditional penwork style. 7 mains and I opted for 12 sympathetics which I actually prefer from a mechanical perspective. Unique features only seen by Ayub like his hardware and penwork designs, etc. make this a unique nice instrument.

Sound is more of an open jawari, nice fitting all around!

The top gourd on this one is oversize and comes with a padded gig bag as no fiberglass cases will fit.
