7 main strings ~ 13 sympathetics ~  Gandhar/Pancham/Pancham style.

Made of tun/mahogany this sitar is finished in kharaj pancham (Ravi Shankar) style and no top gourd which is a popular Varanasi style. Half decoration with synthetic materials for the bridge and fitting. Swirled main pegs and plain taraf pegs with traditional bone eyelets. Very nice wood grain on the tabli, has a decent sound and action and a good price for an instrument from a top level maker. These sitars were personally selected by us in Varanasi, fitted to our specs and air shipped to our shop. 2 new sitars just arrived, a little different design pics up soon. Now includes fiberglass case and a lower price!
