Shankar style ~ all inlaid
This one has been in the process of design
for about a year and is finally here! Features a
fully inlaid floral design, no carving except the
tumba leaves. Sounds as good as it looks.....
7 main strings and 13 sympathetics featuring a 3/4 open jawari in the
style of Pandit Ravi Shankar. All natural materials
for nuts/bridges. Nuts (Meru), all tuning beads, and
langot/post custom hand carved. Main pegs polished
hardwood, sympathetics are also hardwood with gold
tips.
Aged mahogany was used, it has a 14.25 inch
tabli and the construction is all Miraj made of
course, including the 1 piece gourds with a large
top gourd.
Fiberglass cases for sitar and top gourd
are also Miraj made and very nice with a fitted
plush lining.
This sitar has been
air shipped (as are all of our instruments) to
preserve its quality. Styles of each will vary
slightly, current stock has ebony main pegs and
ebony inlaid sympathetics due to the rosewood
protection in place.
