Hindustani Slide Guitars
This is the Hindustandi slide guitar ~ Mohan Veena offered by
Rabi Dey and Sankar Neogy of Narada Music in Kolkata. Rabi was
the lead craftsman for Conchord/Bhabasindhu for many years and
continues the tradition thankfully!
These instruments are of the same type as
played by Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Debashish Bhattacharya. In
the Bhatt style it features 7 main playing
strings and 13 sympathetics. A very resonant tone and fantastic
sympathetic response. The fretboard is hardwood with pine top
and sides and ebony and bone fittings. Polish is synthetic on
back/sides, shellac on tabli. Comes with a bar, picks, fiberglass case with wheels,
and an extra set of strings.
